Sadly, I have been advised by publishers that "breast cancer books don't sell unless they are endorsed by a celebrity."

If this is true, what an unhappy world we live in. Or maybe it just shows the state of the publishing industry.

As I'm not about to approach a celebrity who has or is suffering breast cancer to ask her to endorse this book, which I truly believe would be both helpful and encouraging for women undegoing treatment, it is looking unlikely that it will be published any time soon.

Steph is currently writing a practical handbook for women who have breast cancer. She herself is a double breast cancer survivor, writer and teacher. She knows the questions that women newly diagnosed with breast cancer want to ask, and the information they need to cope with their treatment and its aftermath.  Click here for more information.

Steph was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 34 in 1988, when 8 months pregnant with her first child. After treatment, she remained clear until 2001, when breast cancer recurred in her other breast, and she experienced again the treatment treadmill.

Her recent article "Dealing With The Fallout Of Sudden Hair Loss", published in The Yorkshire Post and Edinburgh Evening News, explains exactly how it feels for women who lose their 'crowning glory' during chemotherapy. She wishes to share with others in the same position
the benefits of the research and experience she now has.

Steph appeared as a guest on GMTV, and featured in a news segment on Meridian TV discussing the Breast Cancer Handbook in May 2005, and she is actively seeking a publisher.
