Steph Davies is a freelance writer specialising in breast cancer issues, travel and education, published in The Times, Times Educational Supplement, Eire Sunday Tribune and regional newspapers and magazines.

An early devotee of the internet, Steph undertakes much of her extensive research on-line. She successfully operated a series of web-sites and communities which were featured in magazines and radio in the late 1990's.

Steph  (BA Hons. Leeds University 1974) refined her excellent communication skills as a teacher of English from 1975 to 2003. She is an entertaining and enthusiastic speaker, who has appeared on television a number of times in both cancer-related programmes and others.

As well as practical experience of breast cancer in herself and other close family members, Steph is also a member of the charity CancerBACKUP Service Users Forum, and in Autumn 2004 addressed a fringe meeting of the Conservative Party Conference as a representative of Cancer BACKUP . 

In January 2005 she was appointed as a lay member of CancerBACKUP's Clinical Advisory Board. In March 2005, Steph participated in Breakthrough Breast Cancer's "Big Conversation", meeting the Right Hon. John Reid, Health Secretary. In May 2005 Steph appeared as a guest on GMTV, discussing breast cancer issues. She also featured in a news segment on Meridian TV.

In Autumn 2005, Steph made a presentation to a fringe meeting at the Labour Party Conference on behalf of CancerBACKUP and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Steph has also created a crime fiction website -  WhereDunnit.com -  for mystery fiction lovers to find books by location and setting, in the US, UK, Europe and throughout the world.  She is currently writing a series of articles about crime fiction in counties around the UK.

Steph Davies lives in North Kent with her husband, teenage son and three cats.
